Official Scholarship Rules
Hyundai of North Miami $1,000 Weekly HBCU Scholarship
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. No purchase, vehicle transaction, test drive, financing application, or other payment is necessary to nominate a student, participate, be selected, or receive a scholarship. A purchase will not increase the likelihood of being selected.
1. Sponsor
The Hyundai of North Miami $1,000 Weekly HBCU Scholarship (“Scholarship Program”) is sponsored by Hyundai of North Miami.
Hyundai of North Miami is affiliated with Lithia Motors, Inc. and/or applicable related dealerships and affiliated entities.
Insert the Sponsor’s official legal entity name, business address, and any legally required information before publication.
2. Scholarship Program
The Scholarship Program recognizes eligible students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (“HBCUs”).
During the promotional period, ONE (1) $1,000 SCHOLARSHIP WINNER WILL BE SELECTED EACH WEEK, subject to eligibility requirements and these Official Scholarship Rules.
Each weekly scholarship has an approximate value of $1,000.
The official campaign start date, end date, weekly entry periods, and total number of available scholarships must be inserted before publication.
3. Eligibility
To be eligible to receive a scholarship, a nominated student must:
- Be currently enrolled at an eligible Historically Black College or University (HBCU);
- Be actively enrolled in at least one course or class at that HBCU during the applicable academic term, or otherwise provide acceptable evidence of current enrollment;
- Meet applicable age and residency requirements established by the Sponsor;
- Be able to provide reasonable proof of current HBCU enrollment if selected;
- Satisfy all other requirements contained in these Official Scholarship Rules.
The Sponsor reserves the right to verify enrollment and eligibility before confirming any scholarship recipient.
If a potential recipient cannot provide satisfactory proof of eligibility, the student may be disqualified and another eligible nominee may be selected.
4. How to Nominate
Complete the official online scholarship nomination form. Each nomination must identify ONE STUDENT ONLY.
A nomination may include:
- Student’s full name
- Student’s email address
- Student’s phone number
- Student’s HBCU school
- Student’s major
- Reason the student deserves to be nominated
- Nominator’s full name
- Nominator’s email address
- Nominator’s phone number
Each completed submission constitutes one nomination. If someone wishes to nominate another eligible student, a separate submission must be completed.
Duplicate, automated, fraudulent, incomplete, or manipulated submissions may be disqualified.
5. Weekly Selection
The Scholarship Program operates over multiple weekly periods. One eligible scholarship recipient will be selected for each applicable weekly period.
The Sponsor must specify before launch whether nominations automatically carry over into subsequent weeks or whether a new nomination is required.
The Sponsor must also specify the final winner-selection methodology before publication.
The Sponsor’s eligibility and selection decisions are final, subject to applicable law.
6. Winner Verification
Potential scholarship recipients may be contacted using the information provided in the nomination.
Before receiving the scholarship, a potential recipient may be required to:
- Verify identity
- Verify current HBCU enrollment
- Provide proof of enrollment
- Complete eligibility documentation
- Complete applicable tax documentation
- Sign applicable acknowledgments or releases
Failure to establish eligibility may result in disqualification.
7. Scholarship Award
Each confirmed weekly recipient will receive a scholarship award with a value of $1,000.
The Sponsor will determine the lawful method of scholarship payment and communicate it to the recipient.
Scholarship recipients are responsible for applicable tax obligations to the extent required by law.
8. Information and Communications
Information submitted through the nomination form may be collected and processed by Hyundai of North Miami and applicable service providers for purposes including:
- Administering the Scholarship Program
- Reviewing nominations
- Verifying eligibility
- Contacting nominators and potential recipients
- Preventing fraud or abuse
- Maintaining appropriate records
- Complying with applicable legal requirements
- Other purposes described in the Privacy Policy
Where the person submitting the nomination separately provides legally appropriate marketing consent, that person’s information may also be used by Hyundai of North Miami, Lithia Motors, Inc., and applicable affiliated or related dealerships for marketing and promotional communications, subject to applicable law and the Privacy Policy.
Submitting another person’s contact information as part of a nomination does not, by itself, constitute that person’s consent to receive marketing communications.
Where consent is required, marketing communications directed to the nominated student require appropriate consent from that student or another person legally authorized to provide such consent.
Consent to marketing communications is not required to submit a nomination or receive a scholarship unless otherwise permitted by applicable law.
9. Publicity
Where permitted by law, confirmed scholarship recipients may be asked to authorize use of their name, photograph, likeness, HBCU affiliation, and scholarship story in connection with announcing or promoting the Scholarship Program.
Obtain any additional authorization required by applicable law separately.
10. Privacy
Personal information collected in connection with this Scholarship Program will be handled in accordance with the applicable Privacy Policy and applicable law.
11. General Conditions
The Sponsor reserves the right, subject to applicable law, to disqualify nominations involving fraud, false information, manipulation, automated submissions, interference with the website, or violation of these Official Scholarship Rules.
If circumstances outside the Sponsor’s reasonable control materially affect the Scholarship Program, the Sponsor may modify, suspend, or terminate the program to the extent permitted by law.
